Arrival
Like many before, early creative impulses were so quickly and ruthlessly dismissed by a succession of art teachers at school that I turned to science in search of Vocation. After graduating from University I worked in the Industry for 3 years and then in Finance and Business for 15 years. On a sabbatical in India my wife asked me: “If you could do absolutely anything what would you be?” To my total surprise I said: "a sculptor." It was a true moment of inspiration, and I have never looked back. In
embarking on my journey into the unknown I was fortunate that my
father, a scientist and engineer, taught me both curiosity and faith that there is usually a
beautiful solution to any problem, and from my mother I inherited the
energy of a restless spirit.

Working as a professional artist now for 9 years I have learnt many new skills but also rediscovered innate skills that had previously lain dormant. I have experienced the limitless potential that a creative approach to life and work can bring and come to a personal understanding about what creativity is and how it can be stimulated. I now realise that my innate creativity had helped me to be successful in business. I am now sharing these insights to develop and focus creativity for the benefit of the individual and business. Ironically I am now enjoying some of my most creative experiences away from my studio working again with business people as I help bring creativity into the workplace. next > Inspirations |
